Default Stop with event weekends?

The reason why i posted this title is the constant errors in european servers. I noticed that every weekend when a new event has been launched, guild wars has much more bugs, which is quite logical, but also a lot of disconnect errors like code=40 or code=13. So why even try to stimulate people to play by all kinds of events, if it just makes it impossible to play for certain players during that weekend?

If the constant code=40 or code=13 is not caused by events or other updates like that, my apologies.

100% agree.

im on the us servers but it seems every event and beyond i lag so bad, rubber bands,058s, 007's without getting the reconnect to go back in game"GG on that one anet", etc...

its so bad ive been playing presearing cause its the only place i don't lag horribly.

maybe if they spent time fixing the game a little, me purchasing chapter 4 may actually be an option. but the way its going, it isn't likely.

i havent experienced these problems, but if you want them to look into it then why don't you include details information about when you got logged off, where you were etc. they ask for detailed information everytime someone mentions their is a problem with the servers or bugs. This will help them fix things, before they put out other weekend events.

In N.C. U.S.A. I can't remember the last time I got an error that wasn't due to something on my side like a modem disconnect. I enjoy the weekend events very much and want them to say.

If I had to guess, it probably isn't the client updates that are causing the Error codes -- it's the extra network traffic that results from the patch downloads along with increased user load due to the special event. The only way these can be corrected is for ANET to increase their server, network, and isp bandwidth, but these don't come cheap.

Stop the events because it *encourages* people to play?!?! And that makes sense how? It's a game, and it's meant to be played.

Ah, it makes sense to those players...

Sorry, I don't agree to the self-interest. I say bring 'em on! More event weekends, please!

- Grunntar

(P.S., I have sympathy, but this is not the way to resolve it. I don't pretend to know how to resolve it, but asking the entire GW population not to play, and miss out on their enjoyment, is certainly not the answer.)

Whenever there's an update, there are two instances of the game at the same time: the old version and the updated version. Your character lives in the old version until you restart the client.

i admit..i do like alot of the events..pve events that is, as im not keen on pvp.. but with these constant errors id prefer not to have the events, maybe once a month..make it more special, as all it is now is..*wonder what event were have next week* for me it gets boring.. but once a month youve got something to looks forwards to...and less errors to worry about..

That's cause we kick ass... Normally we play with one hand tied behind our backs ;-)

Seriously though, from what I've noticed, there are problems but not on all servers at the same time. I got 013'd earlier today and nobody else in my guild did....last time we had problems different people had it at different times too...so yes there are problems but it's not that all Euro servers crash all the time...Today I could log in again within a few minutes and it was fine...

Yeah, the euro servers are having problems (though i never experienced them when i was on there. Then I switched to American ones, since Australian players get better ping from there). Anet has said that they have a team working on it, and it's gonna take some time. I don't think that they should stop the weekend events, since these events are what keep some people playing. Also, they're fun (I'm not much into the PvP ones either though... I might be someday, but not at the moment).

The only problem I see with the weekend events is that they keep dragging me away from deathleveling for defender of ascalon title, so it keeps taking longer and longer to get.

I actually like the weekend events. Granted, some are pointless to me -but to someone else probably worthwhile.

I'm on euro, and Ive been getting a flood of code 13 errors aswell but I don't think weekend events should be stopped just because it brings along some bugs-if they are indeed due to the events at all. I'd be much more in favour of Anet fixing the bugs personally =P

they need to run at least one more event, because when they decided to end the gamer one, they took the token collectors away right away and i got stuck with 860 victory tokens - so after i get to trade those in, they can stop if they want.

There'll always be bugs when new builds are uploaded, be it a weekend event or a new region. =/

I don't think the answer lies in stopping something just because it brings bugs-if that were the 'solution' then Guild wars might aswell stay the exact same and never offer anything new at all.

Yea, I'm in NC as well and I rarely see error codes. Occasionally a 007 code but not that often.
